March 3: Surgery is a go! He will have it on April 13 at 7am! We have to be there at 5:30 to get all checked in! Yea!!
May 15: Christian is finally attempted to crawl with 2 knees forward! We started whole milk, he doesn't really like the taste. We'll keep at it!!
March 16: Pulmonologist update! Christian has slowed on the growth curve. He's still gaining weight, just not as fast as he should be. We get to get rid of his oxygen and pulse-ox on the 17th! Yeah! We have to keep his apnea monitor until the end of April, after his surgery. We do, however, get to stop 2 of his meds: Aldactazide and Xopenex! Pulmacort will go at the end of May, when the risk of RSV is minimal! Woo hoo! Also, we don't have to go back until the end of September!!
March 17: Christian is blowing raspberries. It's so funny! He loves it!
March 23: Christian has mastered crawling! He's so smart!!
Wow, I think it's time for an update, huh? Well, so much has happened since the last update! Christian is keeping me on my toes and it's harder to keep up with the site. Ok, here's the update: Christian celebrated his First Christmas by falling asleep about 1/2 way through opening gifts! Lazy Boy! He got a lot of nice toys and clothes. On New Years Day, he wanted to try my wine, so he grabbed the glass and put it to his mouth. That boy has a strong grip, let me tell ya! He didn't get any, of course, but he sure wanted some! On March 2nd, we went to a speech therapist so that we can get started on the cochlear implant journey. We basically answered the questions that they asked. They recommended that he have the cochlear implant surgery. From there, Christian had a sedated CT scan and ABR test on February 11th. That was read about 1 week later. At that time, we met the surgeon, Dr. Daspit. He also recommended that Christian get the implant. Woo Hoo!!! Christian will be receiving a cochlear implant on April 13, 2005. It will be the Advanced Bionics Cochlear Implant It will be done on the right side.
