Hawaiian Vacation!  What a Blast!
Well, I won a vacation from King's Hawaiian Bread for a trip for 4 to Hawaii.  It was for 6 nights. Since we live on the West coast, they were able to squeeze 5 people on the plan and we were able to get 2 rooms.  We left on July 18th and returned on July 24th.  It was so very much fun!  The people that went were:  My mom (Penny), my husband (Edwin), my son (Christian), my friend (Caitlyn) and myself.  We had SUCH a great time.  Here are pictures of what we did, where we went and what we saw.  The last day we went snorkeling and used underwater cameras.
Arrived on Tuesday, July 18th.  We stayed at the Ohana Waikiki West (nice hotel, if you are on a budget, plus it's close to the beach).  We didn't do a lot that night.  We went to the beach for a bit and ate at Denny's (waste of money and time).

On Wednesday, we had orientation breakfast for Pleasant Holidays (that's who our package was booked through).  It was a nice breakfast.  Wednesday, we just chilled and went to the ocean again.  That ocean water just calls my name!

Thursday was Edwin and my anniversary (number 4!!!).  We went in the morning horseback riding at Kualoa Ranch.  It was beautiful!  Then, we returned to the hotel and did laundry (of all things).  That evening, we were picked up and we had a dinner cruise on the Ali'i Kai Catamaran.  That's a nice place for a dinner cruise.  We each paid an extra $10 and had a "window" seat (by the ocean).  It was worth the upgrade!!  We went out, around Diamondhead and back.  It was a very nice evening!  When we returned home, we rented a movie (She's the Man).

The next day, Friday, we went up to the North Shore.  We went to the Dole Plantation (I ordered 2 pineapples delivered to the airport *only $12.50!!!*), we didn't take the tour, just walked around the gift shop.  After that, we went to Wailia (sp) Beach.  The water went from about 4" to 1 1/2' very quickly.  There were tiny fish all the way up to the beach.  Pretty cool.  The water was very cold!  After that, we continued over to the Polynesian Cultural Center (well, we went to the Mormon Temple first-it is beautiful!!).  We walked around the center, had our luau, then the dinner show.  Christian was really grumpy (you would be too if you were woken at 6am and didn't get a nap all day!!!).  So, I had to stand by the exit and put him in his stroller.  He was much more content then.  There were 2 ladies that worked there that took him for awhile (and even put him to sleep for about 10 minutes).  They were very nice!

On Saturday, Edwin and Caitlyn went snorkeling at Hanauma Bay while my mom and I chilled for awhile.  I wasn't feeling so good, so I took a nap as soon as I dropped off the rental car.  Then, we went to the Sea Life Park.  It was nice, but pretty much a waste of money.  It's kinda like a Sea World, only $20 less to get in, and about 1/4 the size (at least of the Sea World in CA).  We did get to see a Wholphin (Cross of a whale and a dolphin), and that was the only excitement.  We also watched the dolphin show, but Sea World's is much better.  We used a coupon to get in, so I'm glad we didn't pay full price.

On Sunday, we went to Pearl Harbor and the USS Missouri.  Well, since we didn't learn much about Pearl Harbor, at least that I remember.  So, it was a very eye-opening experience.  We did the tour as part of a tour offered when we did our breakfast orientation at Pleasant Holidays.  Our tour guide was awesome!  He pointed out lots of things, and gave us pointers about where to sit, what to take pictures of, etc.  Our tour bus was probly the most educated about it!  It was fantastic!  The only downside was you can't bring anything with you (IE diaper bags, purses).  So, let's just say, after Christian's first (pee only) diaper change, lil buggar did a number 2 and we didn't have any diapers left!  So, it was a long journey to the USS Missouri!  Poor lil guy!

On Monday, we were to go back home :(.  But, I was talked into snorkeling!  Boy, I wish I would have done that earlier.  It was amazing!  We went to Hanauma Bay.  There's lots of coral, so that means lots of fish!  We bought an underwater camera, and it was fantastic!  We took lots of pictures of fish.  Well, I did, Edwin took lots of pictures of sand and coral.  LOL!  But, my camera turned out great!  After we were done snorkeling, we went back to the hotel and packed up.  Time to head out!  I didn't want to go home!  It was such a beautiful experience!  We can't wait to go back.  We'll visit a different island the next time, but hopefully it won't be too long from now!  I already miss the ocean!

Anywho, below are SOME of the pictures.  I took about 210 digitally and 144 with a film camera!  So, we took lots of pictures!
All of these pictures were taken at the airport.  Our leis are so pretty.  I had to wear Christian's for awhile because he wanted to tear it off.  Silly lil boy didn't know how CUTE he was!
