FEBRUARY 2006
February 7:  Today was Christians first day of school.  He went from 8:30 to 12.  He did great and said "apple"!!!!  He's attending Desert Voices which is for deaf/hard of hearing kids.  They are an "oral" school.  This basically means they don't use sign, only speech.  Christian also had an annual evaluation today.  He took off his implant.  I signed "no touch" and he signed back "no".  This is his third sign!  He also dropped some crackers on the floor and I put my arms up and said "uh oh" and he repeated it back!!!  We're slowly getting there!!!
February 15:
Well, I now have a 2 year old!  I can't believe it!  He's doing so much these days, it's hard to keep up.  He's becoming more vocal and learning more signs.  He modifies the signs to suit him.  Like the sign for "Eat" also means he's thirsty.  LOL!  It's a guessing game!  He's doing pretty good.  He'll have his _eval shortly to make sure he doesn't need any services.  I'm pretty pleased with his progress!!  His doc is too!
February 25:
Had to go to the ER again.  Christian had a temp of 102.5 and wasn't eating or drinking too much.  He wasn't getting sick, but he was super fussy, which isn't like him.  The doc at the ER treated me like I was stupid for bringing him in.  He pretty much gave Christian a dose of Tylenol (looked like way too much for me!!) and sent us home.  We were in and out in about 1 1/2 hours, not too bad!!!  But, sure wish the doc had a better bedside manor...what an idiot!
February 28:
Well, had to take Christian to the doctor, his fever just isn't going away and he's really congested.  The doc that saw him wasn't his usual, but it's her 2nd time to see Christian.  She said that he has an ear infection (funny, she was the one that "found" his first ear infection too).  So, he's on antibiotics for 10 days...OIY!  This is a stronger antibiotic because she doesn't think that the other antibiotic totally took away his first infection from last month.  Christian never has complained, or pulled at his ears.  Hard to detect these things!  Well, at least we have an answer.  I hope my poor lil guy feels better.  I've been doing his breathing treatments of Pulmicort and Xopenex like clockwork!  Fortunately that has helped minimize his breathing problems.
Climbing all over the furniture!  You'd think he owned the place.....  Taken 2/8
My lil monkey is tossing all of his diapers on the floor!  Mama had him help clean them up!  Guess we have to find a new hiding spot for them!!What a buggar!!!  Taken 2/8
