August 2004
Information:
August 1, 2004:
Started feeding Christian cereal today.  He's doing well with it.  We give it to him about once a day with a spoon.  He does wonderful with it.  The doctor said we could start because we were giving him a bottle every 2 hours and it was getting tiring.  We're hoping the cereal will fill him up faster!
August 10, 2004:
Started feeding Christian solids today.  He's liking them.  We mix 2-3 baby spoons of food in with his cereal.  We are testing for allergies, so we'll start a new food every 3 days.
August 19, 2004:
Christian had his 6 mo check up on August 16.  He got 3 shots and barely cried for them.  His pediatrition said that as soon as we run out of Christian's preemie formula, we get to start a normal formula.  The doctor is surprised that he's eating cereal (and solids) with a spoon.  She's very happy about it!  He's now 9lb and 21" long.  Such a growing boy!  We have an appointment on September 13 to get Christian's hearing aids (he failed the newborn hearing screen and his first ABR, so he is hearing impaired.  We have another test before the hearing aids are put in to see "how" deaf he is).  Then he will finally get to hear his Mommy and Daddy's voice.  We just got word yesterday from Christian's lung doc, that he can go to Ohio for my Aunt's wedding.  Then my family can finally see him (my mom and sister came out for a weekend when Christian was only 3 weeks old).  Also yesterday, Christian rolled over!  From tummy to back!  It was very exciting!
